Under the project 'Hand in Hand for Education' implemented by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality the City Council Youth Assembly were presented certificates to 35 instructors who provided college prep courses for students without the possibility of attending the school. Based entirely on a voluntary basis on weekends, the instructors who prepared the students for university had the opportunity at the same time to experience their first teaching.

The 6th term of 'Hand in Hand for Education' Project, one of the largest and most important projects of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council Youth Assembly has been completed. In this project, 35 trainers have provided college prep courses for students without the possibility of attending the school. The 35 trainers have received the certificates in the ceremony held. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan, Metropolitan Deputy Secretary General Mustafa Gökoğlan, City Council President Şamil Çınar, National Education Director Mahmut Oğuz, Pamukkale University Vice President Prof. Dr. Selahittin Özçelik, Director of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Cultural and Social Affairs Department Hüdaverdi Otaklı, trainers and Youth Council members attended the ceremony.


The greatest support received from the Metropolitan

Stating that 'Hand in Hand for Education' Project has achieved a great success and providing informations about the project, the project responsible Yunus Kırmacı said: ''Hand in Hand for Education Project was successfully applied for a total of five terms and this year the 6th term is almost completed. Hand in Hand with Education Project is providing free college prep courses to all students in Denizli without the possibility of attending the school. Teachers who hold courses are volunteer students of Pamukkale University. This project is led by the Denizli Youth Assembly and is supported by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, Denizli Governorship, Denizli Province Directorate of National Education and Pamukkale University. 'Hand in Hand for Education' Project provides not only free college prep courses but also holds personal development seminars and motivational seminars. ''


Continues without interruption for 6 years

Youth Assembly President Ayşe Nur Öztürk, ''Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council is one of the oldest and most hardworking youth council in Turkey. Our work within the Denizli Youth Assembly is based on volunteering. In 6 years, 785 students from approximately 2,417 students involved in this project have entered in various departments of different universities all over Turkey. We aim to increase this number in the next years. Our young people are our future leaders that's why they have to be well prepared. In this context Hand in Hand for Education Project is very important for us. I would like to thank for the important support they gave to us in particularly to Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, Denizli Governorship, Denizli Provincial Directorate of National Education, Pamukkale University and to all our volunteer teachers, ''she said.
National Education Director Mahmut Oğuz, thanked the Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan and the trainers for their contribution to the project.


Education is our priority

Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan has pointed out in his speech the importance of 'Hand in Hand for Education' project in terms of social responsibility. Stating that up to this day many projects were implemented in education and that education is a priority, Mayor Zolan said: ''Firstly I would like thank and to congratulate the young trainers for working within this beautiful union of this projects. You gave support to our young people. It is very important to share, to contribute and to give support to others. You will hopefully be useful to people, you will be useful to everyone  you'll be helpful to your country, to your nation. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality gave support to this project. I would like to thank Directorate of National Education, Pamukkale University and our Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council Youth Assembly. You provide free lessons to our children. I hope that our children will win a place to various universities. Tomorrow, when they will be employed they will talk about you, about this project. You'll be proud of them. Young people are our richness, they are our future. As long as you will have success and future of this country will be successful.
Our goal is to sent you to university, to take education from distinguished professors and to graduate successfully. I wish all of you success in the future and I thank very much to everyone involved in this social project. ''


After the speeches, members of the protocol offered certificates to all the volunteer teachers.
