Young students learning Turkish admired Laodicea

The foreign guests who attended the "Turkish Summer School" held by the Prime Ministry Department of Turks Abroad in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute admired the ancient city of Laodicea.

The Prime Ministry Department of Turks Abroad in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute started the "Turkish Summer School" in different cities of Turkey. In this context, a total of 20 students coming in Denizli from Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Poland, Kosovo, Egypt, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Iran and Kazakhstan are participating in the "Turkish Summer School". Besides the Turkish language education, students have the opportunity to learn about the city's historical and touristic highlights, about the culture of the region by participating in organized trips to different historical places in Denizli. Firstly the young students visited the ancient city of Laodicea based on thousands of years of history. Students admired the Church of Laodicea which is mentioned in the Bible, Syria Street, the theater and Anatolia's largest sanctuary, the Holy Agora. The guests had the opportunity to take a plenty of souvenir photos in the ancient city of Laodicea.


Visit to Economy Minister and to Metropolitan Mayor


Students studying in Turkish Education Centers located in different cities in Turkey had the opportunity to learn about the culture of the city and the region. Foreign guests had the opportunity to meet with the Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, Denizli Deputies Nurcan Dalbudak, Mehmet Yuksel and with the Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan. The 20 foreign students learning Turkish with a scholarship in Turkey will be our guests in Denizli until the end of August. In the last week of the event along with guests from other cities they will have to be in Istanbul.
