The 28th Amateur Theatre Festival came to an end

The 28th Amateur Theatre Festival, which was organized by Denizli Municipality, finished with a magnificent gala. Thousands of theater lovers were satisfied from theatre plays which were continued for a week.
The 28th International Amateur Theatre Festival, which was organized by the Cultural and Social Affairs Department of Denizli Municipality came to and end. During the festival, our city was the scene of colorful images. 28 groups, 5 groups from TRNC, Macedonia, Hungary, Kazakhstan and Spain-Lithuania, Belgium-Turkey co-production have staged the 38 plays. Magnificent gala was held at Pamukkale Univestity's Congress and Culture Center. Mayor Osman Zolan, Mehmet Yüksel Member of Parliament, Hüseyin Bağcı Rector of PAU and many guests participated in the gala. 'Düğün Ya Da Davul' ('Wedding or Drums') theater play was staged by actors of Denizli Municipality's City Theatre.
The play was in comedy style about daily life of Anatolian people, their customs and traditions. The play describes the problems on the basis of the social structure of a village and problems such as equality, freedom, gender relations and marital problems, which still taking place at present. This spectacle amused viewers for a long time and they had spent a pleasant evening.
Osman Zolan and Hüseyin Bağcı presented plaques to actors.
Mayor: ‘Denizli Municipality organized Festival for the 28 times and we are proud of it. In result, theatre plays were staged in many districts, schools and halls. The 29th Amateur Festival will be better. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the festival.’
Mehmet Yüksel: 'Theater is our mirror. Theater is the mirror of our society and actors are the people, who preserve this value. I thank them for their contribution in the art.'
Hüseyin Bağcı also thanked all actors for their efforts in order to preserve the art of theater.
