The second part of the 2nd Merkez Efendi Traditional Medicine Festival, organized in cooperation with Denizli and Zeytinburnu Municipalities began in İstanbul. Mayor Osman Zolan was the honored guest of Festival. Governor Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, Murat Aydın Mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality and many guests attended the events, organized alongside Zeytinburnu Merkez Efendi Mosque.
Murat Aydın stated that this festival is organized in cooperation with Denizli Municipality the last two years and thanked Mayor Zolan for their support.
Murat Aydın stated that Turkey is among the richest countries in the world in terms of plant. More than 3.500 endemic plants grow in Turkey, but we dont take advantage of it. Merkez Efendi is the genious person, who used these plants the most efficient way and we are obligated to preserve his values.
Governor Mutlu stated that Turkey has many genious persons. One of these persons is Merkez Efendi. He was a source of healing. I thank Mayor Osman Zolan and Aydın Mutlu for the fact that they preserve such an important value.
Mayor Zolan stated that Merkezefendi was born and completed primary school in Denizli, went to Bursa and İstanbul. Then he served in Manisa. He is one of the most important values of Denizli. We know that our country has ancestors who discovered many inventions and ideas in the past. One of these values is Merkez Efendi. He has made many innovations in the field of medicine. Our task is to transfer this value to future generations. We should to preserve his purpose and philosophy. Our purpose is to introduce the genius of medical science of that period to all generations. For this reason, we are taking steps to create a garden of medicinal plants in Denizli, similar to the garden, located in Zeytinburnu. We will create a garden of thousands of medicinal and aromatic plants. We have begun to work on this subject.
