The 12th International Folk Dance Festival, organized by Denizli Municipality has started.
The 12th International Folk Dance Festival, organized by Denizli Municipality has started. The Festival started with cortege from Denizli Governorship to Denizli Municipality. 300 dancers from 9 countries are participating in the festival.
The festival, which began with cortege, was the scene of colored images. Citizens watched dance demonstrations with great interest. Dancers with their local costumes showed their folk dances.
Mayor Osman Zolan met with representatives of groups on the first day of the festival. Mayor stated that merging of dances of different cultures is a universal phenomenon. 'The festival brings together folk dances of different cultures. The festival, despite creating the interest in the arts, also makes a significant contribution to the publicity of Denizli. I hope that guests will strike up a friendship. I am very happy to see you here.'
Mayor conversed with guests and presented them various gifts. Representatives of dance groups also presented gifts to Mayor, brought from their countries.
During the 5-day festival, dance groups will demonstrate shows in Delikliçınar Square, İncilipınar Park, Meska Amphitheater and Adalet Park.
