Commemoration night of Mevlana from the Metropolitan

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will organize a commemoration program on the occasion of 741st anniversary of the death of Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi, a great scholar of Sufism philosophy. Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan invited all Denizli people to watch the Sufi music concert and the Whirling Dervishes show that will take place during the commemoration night program.

While the 741st anniversary of the death of Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi is commemorated with various events in different cities of Turkey, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality did not forget the great scholar of Sufism philosophy. In this context, on Wednesday, December 17th, at 19.30, at the Pamukkale University Indoor Sports Hall, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will organize the memorial program named "Wedding Night" to commemorate the 741st anniversary of the death of Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi. In the 'Seb-i Arus' ceremony Denizli Metropolitan Municipal Conservatory, will perform a Turkish Sufi Music concert with the most beautiful hymns and eulogies. In the program held for free for Denizli people will also take place the Whirling Dervishes show. Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan said: ''Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi is known all over the world for his philosophy. He will shed light on the present and our future. Mevlana is the most prominent representatives of Sufism and it is our duty to transmit the Mevlana's teachings to our future generations, ''he said. Mayor Zolan invited all Denizli people to the commemoration program on the occasion of 741st anniversary of the death of Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi.


Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi


Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi was born in Balkh on 30 September 1207. He was well known as a poet and a thinker in the western world and Islam. The greatest message he gave to human thinking was Love and Unity. Mevlana does not deny anything, but combines, integrates and endears everything. With the principles that human creatures are the most honorable in every language, every religion, every color embracing Hz. Mawlana is a symbol of love, peace, brotherhood and tolerance. Mevlana was accepted the day of death as the day of rebirth, the day when will go to Allah. Mevlana passed away in Konya on December 17, 1273.
