Denizli celebrates the Disability Awareness Week

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council Assembly of People with Disability together with the schools providing education for people with disabilities and non-governmental organizations met on an empathy march held on May 10-16 due to the Disability Awareness Week.

Denizli is celebrating May 10-16 Disability Awareness Week with various activities. In this context, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council Assembly of People with Disability together with the schools providing education to people with disabilities and non-governmental organizations met on an empathy march. Before the march, they laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument, in front of Denizli Governorship to draw attention on the problems of people with disabilities and to raise awareness on it. Denizli Deputy Governor Halil Canavar, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council President Ali Değirmenci, schools providing education to people with disabilities, non-governmental organizations and a large number of citizens attended the ceremony. Sevil Güngör, the President of City Council Assembly of People with Disability noted that the most important need of the people with disabilities is love and said, ''We will be able to solve all the problems as long as we live in unity and togetherness. ''


Shows were standing applauded


Following the wreath presenting ceremony, the groups gathered here made an empathy march until the 15 Temmuz Delikliçınar Şehitler Square. The march was a colourful scenery with great interest of citizens. In 15 Temmuz Delikliçınar Şehitler Square, the schools providing education to people with disabilities and non-governmental organizations presented mehter, sema, songs, dance and folk shows. The beautiful shows were standing applauded by the citizens.
