At the order of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's instructions on improper price increases, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Police Department teams controlled the price increases caused by the exchange rate and use of the local production logo. In order to prevent unjustified gain by taking advantage of the exchange rate increase recently, the teams of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Municipal Police Department, who supervised the markets in particular, also examined whether or not the domestic production logos were used as of October 3, 2018. The teams, taking into account the warnings from the citizens, focused on the price increases, especially in domestic products. The Metropolitan Municipal Police who control the labels in the stores one by one will send the matter to the relevant boards of the Ministry of Commerce in case of irregularities.


Comparing old and new prices


Head of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Municipal Police Department Özkan Tosun stated that they had audited to evaluate the notifications from the citizens and to prevent the exorbitant price increase due to the exchange rate increase. Tosun said, ''By looking at the labels on the products, we compare the old prices with the new prices, and determine when the last price has been increased. We also control the local products and their weight. If a negative situation is detected, the issue is sent to the relevant board of the Ministry of Commerce. Local firms that do not respect the laws in force can receive fines up to 5 thousand TL, and companies that provide services across the country can receive fines up to 50 thousand TL. ''
