 Releasing a message on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Turkish women's right to vote and to be elected, on December 5, 1934, and December 5, World Women's Rights Day, Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan stated that women, the symbol of unrequited love and sacrifice are the greatest share of the progress made by the societies on the way to civilization. Stating that one of the most important innovations carried out by the Great Leader Atatürk to make Turkey a modern nation-state was to give Turkish women the right to vote and to be elected, Mayor Osman Zolan said that all political and legal decisions taken to improve the status of Turkish women made Turkey more prosperous.
 
Reminding that many other heroic Turkish women such as Fatma Çavuşlar, Şerife Bacılar, Halide Edipler, Çete Emir Ayşelerstruggled with the love of their homeland and nation during the national struggle, Mayor Osman Zolan said, ''Our women played a major role in the construction of a modern Turkey by receiving the right to vote and to be elected, which undertook an important task for the bright future of our country. The future of our country will become stronger with our altruistic, strong, hardworking women who have gained democratic rights before women in many countries. ''
 
Stating that as the Metropolitan Municipality, they always make positive discrimination for women, Mayor Osman Zolan said, ''From education to business, from sports to art, we have realized numerous projects for our women and have endeavoured to play a more active role in every field of life. I celebrate all women on the occasion of the World Women's Rights Day and on the 85th anniversary of the Turkish women's right to vote and be elected. ''
