New bus terminal was opened

The largest building in Denizli's history, under construction for about 2 years, began by former mayor and current Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, the New Bus Terminal was opened for the people.

One of the largest transport complex not only in Denizli but also in Turkey, the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Bus Terminal welcomed its first passengers. After two years of municipality's uninterrupted works, the project started by the Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci and his team in his mayoral period was finally completed and opened for people.
 

Captain of First Departing Bus was the Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci
On the night between Saturday March 8, 2014 and Sunday March 9, 2014 at 00:00 o'clock the new Bus Terminal was opened and at 00:30 the first bus departed having the Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci as captain and Mayor of Denizli Municipality Osman Zolan and other members of the protocol as passengers. 
 

The citizens showed a great interest
Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, Denizli Governor Abdülkadir Demir, the AK Party Denizli deputies Mehmet Yüksel, Bilal Uçar and Nurcan Dalbudak, Mayor of Denizli Municipality Osman Zolan, Deputy Mayors Mahmud Güngör, Mustafa Göko─član, Ali De─čirmenci and Nilgün Ök, directors of municipality's departments and authorities attended the opening ceremony.
 

Bus companies gave a bus ticket as gift to Mayor Zolan
During the visit of Bus Terminal two different bus companies thanked to Mayor Zolan for this investment and gave him two bus tickets to Ankara and to Bursa as a gift. Stating that Intercity Bus Terminal which is one of the major investments in the history of Denizli, was realized together with Denizli's citizens, Mayor of Denizli Municipality Osman Zolan said he will keep these tickets as a souvenir and thanked the company officials on behalf of Denizli's citizens.
 

Minister Zeybekci: "We are witnessing an historic moment"
Stating that Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Bus Terminal is an exemplary investment not only in Turkey but also all over the world and remembering that he put the basis of this project, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, ''For many years Denizli's citizens have dreamed for a new bus station. The old bus station was not at Denizi's standards. After hard works on this issue we put the basis of a new underground bus terminal project. Today we are witnessing an historic moment together. I wish the New Bus Terminal will bring all the best to our Denizli. Hopefully it will serve Denizli for many years. On this occasion I would like to congratulate the Mayor of Denizli Municipality Osman Zolan for implementing this gigantic structure and all those who contributed to achieving it, ''he said.
 

Mayor Zolan: ''We continue to write Denizli's history''
Stating that this day has a special significance and importance, Mayor of Denizli Municipality Osman Zolan said they are happy to achieved the complex dreamed for years. Underlining that Turkey's most modern bus terminal is now in Denizli, Mayor Zolan, ''First of all I would like to thank our Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci for implementing this project and for all his efforts to realize it. After a construction period of two years we opened the new bus terminal, one of the biggest structures not only in Denizli but also in Turkey. We have completed an excellent investment here. I would like to thank all our citizens, trades and bus agencies for their support during this process. This project shows from where to where Denizli came in the last 10 years. Together with our citizens we continue to write Denizli's history, ''he said.
 

''It is an example across the world''
Stating that Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Bus Terminal was built on an area of 32 thousand square meters with a construction area of 100 thousand square meters, Mayor of Denizli Municipality Osman Zolan, "Our New Bus Terminal, with its architecture is Turkey's first and only underground bus terminal features. At the same time it is an example across the world. Thus, Denizli gained a transport complex above world standards. On the top of the bus station there are parks and green spaces. Vehicles entering and exiting the underground terminal building won't see each other. In the project there is a parking with a capacity of 700 cars. The terminal will meet our needs for 50-100 years.
