Şamil Çınar deputy mayor, Prof. Dr. Selahattin Özçelik Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, many academics and students visited exhibition.
39 archival documents related to earthquake and floods occurring in the past in were exhibited. Catastrophes and natural disasters occured in the city were remembered one more.
Prof. Dr. Özçelik stated that the human memory doesnt remember the past, but the documents and archives remind them. Municipality has presented our citizens a very nice service. This exhibition also reminds us that Denizli is situated on a first degree seismic zone. In these documents we see, that the wounds of the earthquake were healed by citizens and state together.
Şamil Çınar noted that the fact of earthquake should be explained to everyone as of childhood. With these documents we aim to convey information on earthquakes and natural disasters occured in Denizli in the past to all students of University.
