Turkey's first glass festival opens its doors for the 4th time

The International Denizli Glass Biennial, organised by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality for the 4th time this year, is beginning. During the three-day biennial, famous glass art masters from Turkey and the world will organise a conference, a panel, live glass shows, and glass exhibitions for Denizli people.

The 4th International Denizli Glass Biennial organised by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, under the organisation of Karma Design Workshop, will take place on May 5-6-7, 2017. The opening of the biennial will take place on Friday, May 5, 2017, at 10.00, in the old Sümerpark building, opposite the Denizli Governorship. The theme of the biennial is "Transformation", which is in accordance with the texture of the place where the opening will take place. Everyone who is interested in art and the art of glass can participate for free in the conference, panel, the live glass shows, and glass exhibitions realised by the invited artists from America, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Turkey.

Live glass shows from 6 different artists every day

Visitors waited to come from different cities of Turkey will be able to watch live glass shows of 6 different artists each day during the biennial, to participate in conferences and workshops. Also between May 5-15, within the biennial, people can visit the mixed glass exhibition called "Dönüşüm" of Turkish glass artists curated by Ömür Duruerk, the painting exhibition called "Bence Cam" of Hakkı Dereköylü Fine Arts High School painting department students, and the mixed glass exhibition of Anadolu University glass department curated by the Prof. Mustafa Ağatekin. 


Visitors will be able to make their own glass beads


For 3 days, from Friday, May 5, 2017, 9:30 am to Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 19:30 pm, people coming to biennial will be able to watch the biennial artists working and to participate in different activities such as making their own glass beads and scraping glass cups.
