Mayor Zolan: ''Our greatest strength is our unity and solidarity''
The first session of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipal Assembly's March Ordinary Meeting started with a moment of silence and the reading of the Turkish National Anthem due to the 100th anniversary of the National Anthem adoption. Stating that attacks against Turkey continue today as in the past, Mayor Zolan said, ''Our greatest strength against these attacks is our unity and solidarity. ''
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Assembly's March Ordinary General Meeting took place under the chairmanship of the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan. Mayor Zolan stated that on the first day of the meeting, they are pleased to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of March 12, the Adoption of our National Anthem and the Commemoration Day of Mehmet Akif Ersoy before discussing the items on the agenda. Mayor Zolan stressed that March 12 is one of the most important days in the history of Turkey and suggested the meeting begin with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. Stating in his speech after the Assembly held a minute of silence and sang the Turkish National Anthem that the Republic of Turkey was founded under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk under very difficult conditions, Mayor Osman Zolan said, ''We wish our flag will continue to fly forever. We will continue to defend our country without fear. I hope our National Anthem will continue to be sung on these lands forever. ''
''We have succeeded so far, we will succeed from now on''
Stating that attacks against Turkey continue today as in the past, Mayor Zolan said: ''Whatever way these attacks come, the strength of the Turkish nation will always be enough to repel it. Our greatest strength against these attacks is our unity and solidarity. Against these attacks, we have to stand firmly together. We have succeeded so far, and we will succeed from now on. ''Stating that the National Poet Ersoy wrote the Turkish National Anthem before the end of the War of Independence, Mayor Zolan said, ''While the enemy occupation was continuing, the Turkish Grand National Assembly accepted our Turkish National Anthem and brought a different spirit to the struggle for independence. We offer our gratitude and thankfulness to those who made efforts. We must protect our homeland, our flag and all our values. With these feelings, I celebrate the 100th anniversary of the adoption of our Turkish National Anthem. May Allah protect our National Anthem and our nation. ''
