Metropolitan ranked up in the CDP 2021

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality moved up the ranks in the CDP 2021 rating results, created to manage greenhouse gas emissions and protect them from the negative effects of climate change, and include reports from more than a thousand cities in the world. Denizli's score increased from C to B "Management" level.

 Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, which is the 2nd in the World with its "Water Management and Climate Change" projects in the One World Cities Competition organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), received good news from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) 2021 rating results. Denizli's score was raised from Level C to Level B "Management" in the results of the CDP 2021 rating, created in England in 2000 to manage greenhouse gas emissions and protect cities from the negative effects of climate change, and in which environmental data are reported for more than a thousand cities. In addition, in the report, Denizli was evaluated at the A level in the climate change adaptation category and C level in the greenhouse gas reduction category, surpassing the global averages.

On the other hand, the results of the CDP 2021 rating highlighted that Denizli understood the risks and negative effects of climate change and took steps to adapt and reduce these effects. In addition, Denizli's cooperation with key stakeholders in understanding the risks and effects of climate change and the fact that it has prepared an Action Plan for climate change mitigation and adaptation was also appreciated. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality reported its climate data to the annual CDP in 2019.

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan said that they attach great importance to their struggle against global warming, which threatens the whole world. Noting that they are the 3rd Metropolitan Municipality that prepared the Climate Change Action Plan in Turkey, Mayor Zolan reminded that the Metropolitan Municipality was the 2nd in the world in the competition organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) with its Water Management and Climate Change projects. Pointing out that they have also been awarded by the Healthy Cities Association with the Denizli Climate Change Action Plan, Mayor Zolan said, ''It is very pleasing for us to move to a higher class in the CDP 2021 rating results. We are taking firm steps towards our goals. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality has targeted a 21 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in Denizli by 2030. I hope we will achieve this goal with our successes one after another, and we will continue to work for a more livable Denizli, Turkey and the World.
