Condemning all forms of violence against women, Mayor Osman Zolan said, ''We say 'no' to violence against women with all our public institutions and organizations and our citizens in Denizli. I would like to state that we will implement zero-tolerance against all forms of violence. In addition, we continue our efforts to end violence against women, to protect and support women who are victims of violence. We want women to participate in decision-making processes and take more part in the socio-economic life of the city as active and productive individuals. ''
Stating that violence against women is a crime against humanity, Mayor Zolan remembered the words of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who said, ''You, the heroic Turkish woman, you are not worthy to be dragged on the ground but to be raised to the sky. ''Mayor Zolan said, ''I congratulate all women, who make our lives livable with their existence, efforts, loving hearts and sacrifices, on the 25th of November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Solidarity. I hope this special day will be instrumental in raising awareness of society against all forms of violence. ''
