Denizli is among the healthiest cities in Europe

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality's 7th Phase membership application of the WHO European Healthy Cities Network has been accepted. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has the title of "The cleanest", "The most environmentally friendly", and "The healthiest" city in Turkey and the 2nd in the world with its "Water Management and Climate Change" projects, has succeeded in being among the healthiest cities in Europe. The Metropolitan Municipality became the 4th metropolitan city in Turkey, accepted into the 7th phase.

 Metropolitan's 7th Phase membership of the European Healthy Cities Network has been accepted
 
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, which was accepted to the World Health Organization (WHO) European Healthy Cities Network in 2010, achieved another great success. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, which has been a member of the WHO Healthy Cities Network since the 5th Phase period covering the years 2009-2013 and has carried out many successful projects, has also been accepted for membership in the 7th Phase covering the years 2019-2025. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality became one of the healthiest cities in Europe and experienced the pride of being the 4th metropolitan city in Turkey accepted into the 7th Phase. The work of the WHO European Healthy Cities Network in the 7th Phase will create the development of leadership and participatory governance in the health field, and international relations wwill be developed with the project, as well as sharing experience and knowledge with other European cities.
 
Metropolitan competes with the world cities
 
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan said that in addition to having the title of "The cleanest", "The most environmentally friendly", and "Healthiest" city in Turkey, Denizli became the 2nd in the world with the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality's "Water Management and Climate Change" projects applied in the 7th Phase. Stating that this success made them happy, Mayor Zolan emphasized that the environment and people are their priority in all their projects as Denizli Metropolitan Municipality. Stating that they are working hard for a peaceful and environmental city, Mayor Osman Zolan said that for a healthy future, there must be healthy cities and wished that the projects they will implement in the 7th Phase will be beneficial for city. 
 
What is the Healthy Cities Project?
 
The WHO European Healthy Cities Project aims to improve physical, psychological and environmental well-being of people in all aspects of urban transport, planning, social services, health, environment, safety and urban health. The project, supported by the European Regional Office, is on the agenda of local governments due to the problems caused by population growth and rapid industrialization in cities. It was started in 1988 to address the relationship between city and health and develop recommendations. The Healthy Cities Project is carried out in 5-year phases, and the 7th Phase will be between 2019-2025. The 35 countries and 100 cities in the WHO European Region and 1400 cities in the world are members of the Healthy Cities Network.
