Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan received the Youth and Sports Provincial Director Ömer İlman and young athletes under the 15-20 May Youth Week activities. Ömer İlman, Denizli Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, athletes representing Denizli in national and international competitions, and accompanying people attended the reception. Provincial Director İlman thanked Mayor Zolan for their support and said they would organize many events in the city during the Youth Week with the Metropolitan Municipality. Also he mentioned that they will participate in the May 15th National Struggle March that will take place today. Pointing out that many sports activities in Denizli are carried out with the support of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and the participation of young people, Provincial Director İlman said, ''Together with our national athletes, teachers, youth leaders and young volunteers, we came to thank you. Emphasizing that the War of Independence, which started on May 19, 1919, under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, was very important, Mayor Zolan said that they would continue to do many good works with the effort and enthusiasm of the young people on the 100th anniversary of the Republic. Reminding that May 15, 1919, is a very special date for Denizli, Mayor Zolan said, ''Denizli is one of the rare cities that does not have a liberation day. Denizli was a province close to the front which supported Atatürk with logistics, military and much support. Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, entrusted this country to you young people. We are always beside you. ''
