Denizli is in safe hands with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade

Last year, the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, which responded to the aid of citizens in 3,620 incidents, intervened in a total of 6,234 incidents, including 2,185 rescue operations and 429 traffic accidents. Following the earthquakes centred in Kahramanmaraş in 2023, the Metropolitan Fire Department, which went to Hatay, successfully rescued 36 citizens from the wreckage, showcasing their achievements.

 Metropolitan Fire Brigade responded to 6,234 incidents in 2023
 
The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department, which stands among Türkiye's leading fire departments with its modern vehicles, equipment, and personnel, had a busy year in 2023. Working 24/7 at 42 different stations in Denizli Center and its 19 districts, the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department protected the lives and property of citizens, intervening in a total of 3,620 fires last year. In addition, the fire teams, which carried out 2,185 rescue operations, played a significant role in responding to a total of 6,234 incidents, including 429 traffic accidents. Throughout the year, the Metropolitan Fire Department exhibited an average response time of 48.62 seconds, quickly standing by the citizens in their difficult moments. In particular, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade teams, which rescued animals and citizens stranded in difficult terrain and climatic conditions, were greatly appreciated for their rescue operations.
 
36 citizens were rescued safely in earthquakes
 
After the earthquakes centred in Kahramanmaraş last year, referred to as the 'Disaster of the Century,' the Metropolitan Fire Department, which went to Hatay to support search and rescue efforts, distinguished itself by successfully rescuing 36 citizens from the wreckage. In recognition of its efforts during the earthquakes, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade Department was awarded the State Superior Sacrifice Medal by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Türkiye.
 
Fire training for 52,994 people
 
The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department conducted various training programs aiming to prevent unwanted incidents such as fires, traffic accidents, and rescue operations. As part of this training, fire safety training was provided to 52,994 people. Following the "precaution first" policy, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade Department continued its activities by inspecting 1,085 businesses in the city for potential fire and accident hazards and providing fire safety reports. Emphasizing in-service training, the fire department prepared its personnel for duty at all times with a total of 1,606 hours of theoretical and practical training.

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan stated that the fire department teams are ready for duty 24/7 in 616 neighbourhoods across 19 districts to protect the lives and property of the citizens. Emphasizing that they are among the leading fire departments in Türkiye with their vehicles, equipment, and personnel, Mayor Zolan said, ''I am proud of our teams. Denizli Metropolitan Fire Department is always ready for duty, serving our people 365 days a year, without a break for holidays or weekends. When our citizens are in trouble, when there is a disaster or adversity, our teams rush to duty at the risk of their own lives. Thanks to Allah, our Denizli is in safe hands. ''Mayor Zolan also highlighted the successful performance of the fire department teams in Hatay during search and rescue operations after last year's earthquake, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in the efforts to heal the wounds of the region.
