Applications for the 36th International Theater Festival have started.

 

Applications have begun for amateur theatre groups wishing to perform at the 36th International Theatre Festival organized by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality this year. The first International Theatre Festival, held in 1984, will take place this year from September 23 to September 29, 2024. Amateur theatre groups interested in participating can apply through the official website of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, www.denizli.bel.tr, until July 12, 2024. The theatre groups will be evaluated by a selection committee and those chosen will perform for the people of Denizli during the 36th International Theatre Festival, held from September 23 to September 29, 2024. Last year, the 35th International Theatre Festival in Denizli featured a total of 17 theatre groups, including 5 from abroad, and presented a total of 20 performances.

Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu stated that they set out with the goal of making Denizli a city of art. Emphasizing their efforts to make the city known for culture and art, Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, "We will continue to bring art and culture to the streets, squares, avenues, and all stages of our Denizli. In this regard, I believe that the International Theatre Festival, which has been organized by our Denizli Metropolitan Municipality for many years, will make positive contributions to the cultural and artistic life of our city. We invite all amateur theatre groups to our city."
