The 18th International Folk Dance Festival begins

The 18th International Folk Dance Festival, organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, will begin on Sunday, July 21, 2024, with the slogan "There is Dance in the City." The festival will host 392 dancers from 12 countries and will continue until July 27.

The 18th International Folk Dance Festival, organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, will start on Sunday, July 21, 2024. The festival will begin with a parade in front of the Denizli Governor's Office at 17:00 on Sunday, July 21, and will feature 392 dancers from 12 countries. Following the parade, which will include dance performances along the route, groups will take the stage at Delikliçınar Square at 21:00. Throughout the week, the festival excitement will be experienced in İncilipınar Park, Adalet Park, Yenişehir Zaferiye Abalıoğlu Primary School, KYK Amphitheater, and the districts of Acıpayam, Serinhisar, Sarayköy, Buldan, Bozkurt, and Çardak. The festival's gala program, to be presented to the delight of Denizli residents, will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 21:00, at the Metropolitan Municipality Nihat Zeybekci Congress and Cultural Center.

 

Groups participating in the festival

 

The groups participating in the festival program that will add colour to Denizli until July 27 are as follows: "TRNC, Croatia, Albania, Poland, Russia, Kosovo, Georgia, North Ossetia, Dagestan, North Macedonia, Colombia, the North Uşaklar (Ankara), and the host Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Conservatory Folk Dance Ensemble, Denizli Metropolitan Belediyespor Club Folk Dance Ensemble, and 15 Temmuz Şehitler Anatolian High School Sports Club."

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu expressed that the 18th International Folk Dance Festival will bring a unique beauty to the city. He mentioned that the festival excitement will be carried to the city centre, as well as to 8 districts with the slogan "There's Dance in the City." Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, "We continue to bring culture and art into the squares, boulevards, streets, and alleys of this beautiful city. We strive for a Denizli where people smile and love and solidarity prevail. I invite all our citizens to join us in experiencing the festival's excitement together. "
