'İftarlık Gazoz' made the audience both laugh and cry

 

The Summer Cinema Days project, implemented by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality to revive the old summer cinemas, continues. The screening of the film 'İftarlık Gazoz' at the Ziya Tıkıroğlu Open-Air Theater was attended by Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, his wife Nilgün Çavuşoğlu, guests, and a large number of viewers. The film, which tells the story of a boy who starts as an apprentice to a soda seller and whose life, beginning with the Ramadan fast, ends with a hunger strike in prison during his university years, set against the backdrop of a 1970s Aegean city's social life and the political atmosphere of the time, received high praise from the audience. Thousands of Denizli residents flocked to the Open-Air Theater, where they both laughed and cried with 'İftarlık Gazoz.' While citizens enjoyed the experience of watching a movie outdoors, they also received free popcorn and soda.

Speaking to the guests, Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu expressed that they did not anticipate the Summer Cinema Days project would receive such overwhelming interest and extended his gratitude to all the residents who participated. Emphasizing that the Summer Cinema Days create a bridge from the past to the future, Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, ''I hope that this beautiful project of ours will continue in the coming years with nostalgic films. We will be launching many new events. When we took office, we envisioned our city becoming a city of art, where people are happy, smiling on the streets, enjoying themselves even under challenging conditions. We are building this dream together. I thank you for joining us on this beautiful evening.''

On the other hand, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality's Summer Cinema Days will continue until September 14. Successful works of Turkish cinema will be screened for Denizli residents free of charge, and reservations can be made online at ebilet.denizli.bel.tr.
