The event, which drew great interest from Denizli residents, began with a traditional Zeybek dance performance by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Folk Dance Team and students from Gülay Kaynak Sarıkaya Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The light show held throughout the evening was well-received, with spectators waving Turkish flags to accompany the anthems played before the concert. Berkay performed a special repertoire of his popular songs, adding colour to the night. The beloved artist, who entertained the audience with emotional and lively moments, addressed the Denizli residents, ''It's an honour to experience this great excitement with the people of Denizli. Happy Republic Day. I thank our Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu for making this possible and to all of you for being here.''
''The Republic is a virtue''
CHP Denizli Deputy Şeref Arpacı said in his speech here, ''The Republic is a virtue, a moral, a right, a law, justice, and science. The Republic is the greatest achievement and most important legacy of the founder and saviour of this country, our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.''
''We will proclaim with pride: Happy October 29 Republic Day''
Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu noted that they were initially uncertain about holding the Republic Day events due to a recent terrorist attack and a forest fire in the area. However, they decided that the Republic must be celebrated under any circumstances. Mayor Çavuşoğlu stated, ''Not celebrating this holiday would dishonour the memory of our ancestors. We must shout the Republic with pride, even in our worst times, and boldly say ‘Long live Mustafa Kemal Pasha.’ We will not feel down or unwell on our national holidays. And we will hold accountable those who fail to find Anıtkabir wherever they go in the world. This is our greatest holiday, to be celebrated with all our might. Happy October 29 Republic Day. ''
