The Metropolitan Municipality keeps the centuries-old minstrel tradition alive

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will host the 11th Denizli International Aegean Minstrels Festival on December 10-11. In the program, to which all citizens are invited, minstrels will perform for the people of Denizli.

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality continues to preserve the minstrel tradition, which has a history of thousands of years in Turkish culture. In this context, the 11th Denizli International Aegean Minstrels Festival will occur on December 10-11, 2024, at the Nihat Zeybekci Congress and Cultural Center. A total of ten minstrels, eight from different regions of Türkiye and two from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, will perform in the program, which will begin on Tuesday, December 10, and Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 20:00. The event, which aims to keep alive the minstrel tradition, one of the most important elements of Turkish culture, will be free of charge. All citizens are invited to the 11th Denizli International Aegean Minstrels Festival, where the minstrels will perform for the people of Denizli.
 
Over 11 years, 250 minstrels participated.
 
The Minstrels Festival, initiated by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality in 2011 with 15 participants, gained international status in 2013, becoming the International Aegean Minstrels Festival. By 2024, a total of 250 minstrels will have participated in this unique cultural celebration, 211 of whom came from various regions of Türkiye and 39 from the Turkic world.
