A press conference was held as part of the International Denizli Short Film Festival, organized for the first time this year by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality. The event took place at the Nihat Zeybekci Congress and Cultural Center. The program was attended by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, Secretary General Bülent Bozbaş, famous artist Güven Kıraç, and the festival's jury members, including actress Ece Özdikici, actor and director İskender Altın, actor Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu, actress Sezin Bozacı, actor Ufuk Kaplan, Prof. Dr. Zuhal Özel Sağlamtimur, and program host İpek Dağıstanlı. In his speech, Mayor Çavuşoğlu stated that the people of Denizli loved the short film festival, held for the first time, and mentioned that the five-day film performances were watched with great interest.

 

The festival will be held more extensively next year

 

Mayor Çavuşoğlu, who thanked everyone involved in the festival, including directors, screenwriters, and actors, said, ''We didn't expect such a great level of interest from the people of Denizli for the short film festival we held between December 2-6. But truly, our friends in the organization and all who contributed to this event helped us through a beautiful process. ''Mayor Çavuşoğlu continued his speech: ''We believe there should always be a space where artists can express themselves as they wish. In this sense, we started this journey today. Next year, we hope to have a more comprehensive, larger festival that embraces everyone, with more diversity, and perhaps we can hold it twice a year. We hope to continue such a process together. May it be beneficial for our city. ''

 

Famous artist Kıraç gave full marks to the festival.

 

Artist Güven Kıraç, who filled the room with laughter with his jokes, expressed that he came to the festival invitation with great excitement and happiness and thanked the organizers. He mentioned that he had participated in short film competitions in many places, but the intense interest in the organization in Denizli surprised him. Kıraç said, ''Since I got off the plane this morning, the conversations I've had up until now, the full occupancy of the festival halls, the interest shown in the films here, and the high quality and standards of the films truly gave me great happiness. I've been actively involved in cinema for many years and continue to do so. Cinema holds an important place in my life. With a journey that began with Masumiyet in 1997, this year marks about thirty-some years. Cinema has always made me very happy, and it continues to do so. The sweet, warm breeze of cinema always catches you somehow. Somewhere, that gentle breeze touches your face. Now, that breeze has come from Denizli. I sincerely thank everyone. ''
