Training program from the Metropolitan Municipality for pet sellers

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality organized a training program for pet sellers. Veterinarians from various institutions provided the training, and participants were awarded certificates upon completion of the program.

 The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department's Veterinary Unit organized a "Training Program for Pet Sellers" at the Seminar Hall of the Street Animals Treatment, Shelter, and Rehabilitation Center. The training was attended by Denizli Veterinary Chamber representative Özgür Manav, Board Member Şahin Özkaya, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry's Animal Health Branch Veterinarian İlknur Sadıç Gül, Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Veterinarian Mehmet Ordu, Veterinarian Seda Orbay, and citizens who wished to receive certification.
 
Participants received training on animals.
 
After Elvan Alkaya, Director of the Health Branch of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department provided information to the participants about the Street Animal Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, Veterinarian İlknur Sadıç Gül gave training on the ''European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals'' and the ''Regulation on the Establishment, Opening, Licensing, Operation, and Supervision of Pet Sales, Shelter, and Training Facilities.'' Veterinarian Mehmet Ordu covered the ''CITES Convention and Law No. 5199 and its Regulation,'' while Şahin Özkaya, a Board Member of the Chamber of Veterinarians, provided training on ''Animal Ecology, Animal Behavior, Animal Care, and Nutrition.'' At the end of the training, all participants were awarded certificates.
 
''Training and certification are very valuable for legal sales.''
 
Stating that Denizli Metropolitan Municipality provides training for pet sellers under Law No. 5199, Director of the Health Branch, Elvan Alkaya, said, ''The training and certification provided to ensure pet sales comply with the law and to stop illegal, unregulated sales are extremely valuable. Many of the breed animals abandoned on the streets and taken under protection in our shelter come from unauthorized sellers. We sincerely thank the participants for their interest.''
