
Denizli Art Workshop lights the way for the future
Organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, the inaugural Denizli Art Workshop successfully brought together leading figures and innovative projects from across diverse artistic disciplines. Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu emphasized that the workshop would serve as an important guiding force in shaping the city's cultural and creative future.

Mayor Çavuşoğlu: "Denizli will become a city defined by art."
Held at the Pamukkale Cultural Center, the workshop was attended by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, Secretary-General Bülent Bozbaş, Deputy Secretary-General Özgür Başkurt, Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs Mehmet Selçuk, esteemed guests, and distinguished representatives from various branches of the arts. In his opening remarks, Mayor Çavuşoğlu referenced Atatürk's profound statement, "A nation deprived of art has lost one of its vital lifelines," and stated: "Since taking office, we have prioritized the arts, working tirelessly under the vision of 'Art City Denizli.' As we endeavour to enhance the city's cultural and artistic fabric, we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our artist community."

Mayor Çavuşoğlu affirmed the pivotal role of art in fostering societal development, stating: "We firmly believe that a society deeply engaged with art can overcome many of its challenges. The Denizli Art Workshop represents a cornerstone of this newly embarked journey and will continue to inspire and guide our efforts. "

The full-day workshop commenced with a morning session featuring photographer Çerkes Karadağ, theatre artist Serdar Bordanacı, and humour writer Savaş Ünlü, who shared their experiences and perspectives with attendees. Speakers underscored the transformative impact of Mayor Çavuşoğlu's leadership and remarked on the city's rapid emergence as a vibrant centre for art and culture. In the afternoon session, director Yüksel Aksu, cartoonist Ali Şur, and poet-writer Cezmi Ersöz offered profound reflections on the intrinsic relationship between art and everyday life. Participants also had the opportunity to present their creative projects, enriching the workshop's dynamic and innovative atmosphere. The day concluded with a book signing event, where Cezmi Ersöz, Çerkes Karadağ, and Savaş Ünlü personally engaged with art enthusiasts. Meanwhile, live portrait caricature performances throughout the day captivated visitors and created lasting memories.
