Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu and the technical team from Denizli Metropolitan Municipality travelled to Spain to examine various transportation and traffic systems in different cities and to consult with experts in the field. As part of the technical visit program, which included Barcelona, Granada, and Valencia, they conducted extensive studies on public transportation systems, traffic control centres, and sustainable mobility practices.

Mayor Çavuşoğlu conducted detailed studies in three cities

The first stop was the Barcelona Municipality and the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority (TMB). During the reception held at Aimsun offices, the delegation was briefed on transportation planning and technical organizations. Meetings with the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority featured detailed presentations on the city's advanced bus network and tram system. The second stop was Granada, where the delegation visited the Traffic Control Center and Metro Control Room. There, they exchanged views with officials regarding the city's traffic management system and public transportation integration. In Valencia, they visited the Municipal Traffic Control Center, where they examined topics such as pedestrianized areas, tram and metro systems, sustainable solutions for urban mobility, and the "superblock" model in depth.

''We closely follow global cities for a modern transportation network''

The visit particularly focused on active transportation methods such as cycling and pedestrian zones, digital information systems at bus stops, and bike-sharing networks. The widespread implementation of the superblock model in Barcelona was highlighted as a significant example of reorganizing private vehicle traffic. At the end of the program, an evaluation meeting was held to reflect on all technical visits and to exchange ideas on practices that could be implemented in Denizli. Emphasizing that the visit was a major gain for the city, Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu stated, ''We closely follow global cities to build a more livable, sustainable, and modern transportation network. The practices in Spain will serve as a guiding example for us. ''
