The 37th International Amateur Theatre Festival Begins on May 23
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality is once again bringing the power of art and culture to the stage. The 37th edition of the International Amateur Theatre Festival will be held from May 23 to June 1, 2025, offering Denizli a series of theatre-filled days.

From the City of Art, Denizli, to the Global Stage
With the participation of theatre groups from five different countries and various regions of Türkiye, a total of 22 theatre groups will perform 26 different plays. Around 300 theatre artists will be hosted in Denizli, accompanied by public theatre workshops held throughout the festival. The event will open on Friday, May 23, at 16:45 with the traditional parade starting in front of the Governor's Office and ending at Delikliçınar Square. That same evening, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Theatre will premiere its play "Colonel Bird", marking the official opening of the festival.
Final Performance: Deli Bayramı (Mad Feast)
This year's festival will host theatre groups from Uzbekistan, Tbilisi (Georgia), Iran, Azerbaijan, and Gagauzia/Moldova. Amateur theatre artists from various Turkish municipalities and university troupes will share the stage with professional ensembles. The festival will conclude on Sunday evening, June 1, with a performance of the popular play "Deli Bayramı" by DasDas Theatre, to be held at the Ziya Tıkıroğlu Open-Air Theatre.
