Hosted by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, the 19th International Folk Dance Festival will kick off on Sunday, July 13, with a magnificent parade featuring 813 dancers from 23 dance groups across 19 countries.
The Dance of the World Takes the Stage in Denizli
Denizli will once again bring together world cultures through the 19th edition of the International Folk Dance Festival. Organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, the festival will begin with a grand parade on Sunday, July 13. Folk dance groups from Ankara, Kütahya, and Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will represent Türkiye at the festival.
The parade will start at 19:30 in front of the Governor's Office and proceed to Delikliçınar Square in a festive atmosphere. At 20:15, opening speeches and group performances will take place at the square. The first day will conclude with performances by eight different countries starting at 21:30.
The Rhythm of Cultures Will Beat in Denizli
Throughout the festival, stunning folk dance performances from around the world will be showcased on various stages in Denizli city center and surrounding districts. Participants will also enjoy cultural tours, including visits to Pamukkale, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and other historical and natural attractions of Denizli.
The Gala Night will take place on Saturday, July 19, at 21:00, at Özay Gönlüm Hall. One of the evening’s highlights will be the Harmandalı performance, where dancers from each country will share the stage.
