Strong interest from art lovers in the play "Sığıntılar"

 

Continuing its work under the vision of "The City of Art, Denizli," the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality keeps bringing art enthusiasts together with its plays for the 2025–2026 art season. The City Theatre actors performed the masterpiece "Sığıntılar" by Polish writer Slawomir Mrozek for theatre lovers.

 

The play, which attracted great interest, was staged at the Fatma Yıldız Hall of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Congress and Cultural Center. Among the audience were Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, Deputy Secretary General Özgür Başkurt, Head of the Department of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Mehmet Selçuk, and many art lovers.

 

Adapted for the stage by Sinan Küçüköz, General Art Director of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres, the play presents the phenomenon of migration with a striking narrative and a unique perspective. With its powerful atmosphere and contemporary messages that delve deeply into the concept of migration, the play received full marks from theatre audiences.

At the end of the evening, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu came on stage to congratulate the entire cast, emphasizing the significance of the play’s human message beyond its artistic success. Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, "The play made us all reflect deeply with its strong humanitarian messages. But above all, the sincerity and emotional depth in your acting were truly impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and from what I observed, the audience shared the same feelings. These applause are the most beautiful way to say thank you for your effort and passion.
