“Producing Women Festival” Opens Its Doors on May 8

Organised by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Council, the festival—whose first edition was successfully held in February—returns to strengthen women’s economic independence. Focusing on women who produce, contribute, and aspire to turn their dreams into income, the event will host a wide range of categories, including jewellery, handicrafts, food, ready-to-wear, home textiles, and original design products. The three-day event, to be held at the Denizli Metropolitan Congress and Culture Centre, will serve as a platform where women’s labour is made visible.

Free Stand Support from the Metropolitan Municipality

In order to ease the financial burden on women producers, a total of 258 stands have been allocated to participants free of charge within the scope of the festival. Following applications received via the official website in November of last year, participants were determined through a draw held on December 15, 2025, at Mehmet Gazi Hall. Throughout the festival, women entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to meet consumers directly and expand their market networks.

Festival Excitement to Begin with Tuğba Ger

Bringing vibrancy to the city’s cultural life, the opening guest of the festival will be the powerful voice of Turkish folk music, Tuğba Ger. The three-day program will begin with the opening ceremony on Friday, May 8, at 12:00 PM, featuring the esteemed artist, and will include a variety of educational workshops, inspiring talks, sharing success stories, and activities for all age groups. Following the opening ceremony, Tuğba Ger will perform at 2:00 PM on May 8, Elif Buse Aşan will take the stage on Saturday, May 9 at 3:00 PM, and Aydanur will perform on Sunday, May 10 at 5:00 PM. The festival will serve as a meeting point for the people of Denizli. The festival area will welcome visitors between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM throughout the three days.

Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu invited all citizens to this meaningful gathering, emphasising the importance of the festival for the city’s social and economic fabric. In his statement, Mayor Çavuşoğlu said: “Our priority is to ensure that every individual in this city—especially our women—receives the value they deserve and that their productive potential is supported. A woman’s labour is the prosperity of a city. With the ‘Producing Women Festival with the Metropolitan Municipality,’ we celebrate not only the craftsmanship of our women but also their determination and success. I invite all our citizens to attend the festival, witness the handcrafted works of our women, and support them.”
