Residents of Denizli Gathered for a Night of Tribute

The commemorative concert, held at the DBB Congress and Culture Centre Özay Gönlüm Hall, was attended by Acting Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Ali Marım, Head of the Department of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs Mehmet Selçuk, Head of the Department of Social Services Veysel Danacıoğlu, and many invited guests. The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Conservatory City Orchestra took the stage during the night, which saw a high level of participation. The orchestra, conducted by Orhan Dikici, was accompanied by soloists Nihal Salda and Hakan Eyiden.

The Master Artist Remembered Through His Works

During the night, Edip Akbayram’s iconic songs that left a mark on Turkish music, such as Aldırma Gönül, Eşkiya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz, and Hasretinle Yandı Gönlüm, were performed. The audience, which filled the hall to capacity, joined the performers in unison, creating emotional moments. Emphasising the unifying power of art, the people of Denizli once again demonstrated their respect and loyalty to the master artist.

Marım: “We Will Continue to Walk in the Light of Art”

At the end of the night, Acting Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Ali Marım took the stage to present plaques to the artists and stated, “Figures like Edip Akbayram will live forever in the hearts of our people not only through their songs but also through their stance. As Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, we will continue to make our city a centre of art and to preserve the legacy of our artists.”
