The journey of handicrafts from the past to the future
Full support from the Metropolitan Municipality for family economies
The training programs, which aim to contribute to women’s personal development and family budgets, continue to attract increasing interest each year. Handicraft courses, which began with 7 trainees at the historic Sürücü House, have today reached a total of 1,898 trainees in 54 different branches with 35 expert instructors, in cooperation with the Pamukkale and Merkezefendi Public Education Directorates.
4,143 works await art enthusiasts
While trainees have the opportunity to generate income by exhibiting the handcrafted products they create by combining modern and traditional techniques at DENMEK sales units operating under Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, the courses also provide free training in various fields, including painting, caricature, traditional Turkish handicrafts, and calligraphy. The works produced throughout the year in these courses will be showcased at the 9th “Golden Traces of the Past” Group Exhibition.
The exhibition will welcome visitors for six days
Featuring a total of 4,143 works ranging from traditional handicrafts to modern design applications, the exhibition will shed light on Denizli’s artistic heritage. The official opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at 14.00 in the Foyer Area of the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Congress and Culture Center. The exhibition will continue to welcome visitors until Monday, 18 May.
