Denizli Metropolitan champion at the Aegean Friendship Tournament
Denizli Metropolitan Belediyespor Girls’ U-14 Basketball Team achieved a major success by becoming undefeated champions at the International Aegean Friendship Cup held on the Greek island of Kos. During the closing ceremony of the tournament, the hosting flag for the next edition of the organization was officially handed over to Denizli Metropolitan Belediyespor.

The hosting flag was passed to Denizli.
Held between 8–10 May 2026 with the support of the Municipality of Kos, the organisation featured Denizli Metropolitan Belediyespor and Datça Belediyespor representing Türkiye. Greek teams AE Dikeou and Esperos also competed in the tournament, where the Denizli representative drew attention with its outstanding performance. Denizli Metropolitan Belediyespor defeated Kalymnos representative Esperos 56–33 and Kos team AE Dikeou 48–19, completing the tournament undefeated and securing the championship title.
In addition to sporting competition, the organization stood out with its messages of friendship and brotherhood, while the young athletes gained valuable international experience. At the closing ceremony held at the end of the tournament, the hosting flag for the next Aegean Friendship Tournament was handed over to Denizli Metropolitan Belediyespor, and it was announced that next year’s event is planned to be held in Denizli.
