Mayor Zolan: This is our pride

Ministry of Environment and City Planning, which organized 'My Clean Turkey' Contest, awarded Denizli Municipality in category of the cleanest city. Contest was held among municipalities with a population between 50–750 thousand people. At the ceremony Mayor of Denizli Municipality received the award. ‘Our goal is to provide a peaceful and healthy environment for our citizens.’
At the ceremony which was hosted at Four Seasons Hotel, Mayor Osman Zolan received the award from the hands of rfan Uzun Deputy Undersecretary of Minister of Environment and City Planning. Denizli Governor Abdülkadir Demir also attended the award ceremony. Bolu received the second, and Kütahya took the third place.
Mayor briefed about realized and ongoing projects. 'Denizli Municipality has implemented many great projects. We have already received numerous awards. Our awards are result of our studies. Our goal is to ensure a peaceful and healthy environment for Denizli's citizens.'
It is an honorable and gratifying for us. Our country and of all the world must be clean as Denizli. Denizli Municipality is the model municipality with its waste water treatment plant. Fishes live in this water and it used as 1st class of agricultural irrigation water. By producing electricity from solid municipal waste Denizli Municipality has solved this problem and it provides an alternative way to produce electricity. We collect the garbage in our houses separately. We became the first according to the 28 different criteria related to environment projects. Denizli Municipality shows extraordinary efforts in terms of investment in the future. All kinds of crisis can be overcome, but the environmental crisis is the last crisis, which can not be returned. This success is also the success of our people. I thank all citizens, who support the environmental projects.
Abdülkadir Demir congratulated Mayor for his success. All institutions in Denizli, particularly on environmental issues are working in harmony. This success is no coincidence; municipality has scored important achievements in the city center. I congratulate Mayor Zolan. We try to spread such great studies in other counties too.
İstanbul, Bursa and Sakarya Metropolitan Municipalities shared the first place in 'Metropolitan Municipality' Category as the cleanest cities.
Within the contest, winners Municipalities with a population between 10-50 thousand people are as follows: the first place took Didim, 2nd - Eğirdir and 3rd place is Çiftlikköy.
