Company caught red-handed during routine inspection

During routine inspections conducted by field teams, a company was identified dumping excess concrete mix from construction work onto the road and roadside and polluting the environment by washing vehicles and machinery at the same location. Following the on-the-spot intervention, an Administrative Sanction Report was issued against the company and the vehicle driver in coordination with the teams of the Department of Municipal Police, and a fine of TL 181,000 was imposed. The concrete mix and mud waste causing the pollution were removed by the responsible parties, and the site was restored to its original condition.

Hopper openings of ready-mix concrete vehicles must be kept covered

The inspections focused not only on illegal dumping on land but also on pollution caused by concrete mix leaks along the urban transportation network. It was emphasized that concrete mix leaking from vehicles onto roads, particularly on steep inclines, when vehicles pull away after waiting at red lights or during sudden braking, causes permanent contamination on asphalt surfaces and damages the road.

The seven-storey structure, consisting of a basement, ground floor, four regular floors and a terrace floor, will serve with a total capacity of 663 vehicles.

Standing out with accessible facilities provided on every floor and a safe architectural design, the facility has a total capacity of 34 accessible parking spaces, including those on the ground floor. In addition, the positioning of entrance ramps and elevators will provide uninterrupted and safe access to all floors.

Designed with a vision of a sustainable and green future, the car park accommodates next-generation vehicles. Project planned in three different categories

The project has been planned in three different categories based on producers’ needs and land conditions. Applicants will be able to choose only one type of sapling: olive, almond or fig. Applications can be submitted from all districts within the borders of Denizli Province. The support program offers producers the opportunity both to complete their existing orchards and to establish new orchards. Producers will declare in their 2027 Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) certificate that they have olive, almond or fig production areas. Only one person from each household will be eligible to benefit from the support.

İstanbul Enerji A.Ş. General Manager Dr. Yüksel Yalçın, meanwhile, addressed the food, water and energy crises caused by global warming in his speech. Stating that the destruction experienced globally since the Industrial Revolution has reached its peak over the past 25 years, Yalçın said, “The color of the world is changing from blue toward pink and red. Agricultural crises and migration caused by drought in the future are a scientific reality. In this process, local governments need to take responsibility for everything from urban planning to energy production. Integrating solar energy systems into buildings should no longer be a choice, but a natural part of our approach to urban planning.” Emphasizing that energy independence is the foundation of national independence, Yalçın said, “The main cause of wars around the world is energy. “An eight-stage roadmap and an integrated approach”

Presenting information on the process and technical details, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Head of the Department of Climate Change and Zero Waste Umut Somyürek stated that YİDEP is not merely an environmental plan, but an integrated investment program covering transportation, infrastructure, public health, agriculture and disaster management. Outlining the eight-stage roadmap launched in line with the Climate Law and relevant regulations, Somyürek stated that following the technical infrastructure and data collection processes, the citywide greenhouse gas inventory would be calculated and risk analyses would be conducted. Noting that Denizli has significant vulnerabilities, including forest fires, water security, urban heat islands and the protection of geothermal resources, Somyürek emphasized that the adaptation and mitigation actions to be identified would be implemented with the approval of the Governor’s Office and with public participation. Children added color to the event

The event began with children meeting the animal friends at the shelter in the adoption area. The facility provides services 24/7

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Stray Animal Shelter and Rehabilitation Center continues its work to ensure the safety and health of stray animals and improve their living conditions, with a capacity to serve 1,000 animal friends simultaneously across an area of 132,600 square meters. The facility is a large-scale complex featuring a polyclinic, cat and dog treatment units, operating rooms and adoption areas, and provides services 24/7 with expert veterinarians and qualified personnel. While all records are kept digitally, information about the condition of animals brought to the center is regularly communicated via SMS to citizens who report them.

Increase in sterilization and adoption figures

In the first nine months of 2026, a total of 5,200 cats and dogs were sterilized, while 1,075 animal friends were adopted and placed in loving homes through the care, treatment, sterilization and adoption services provided completely free of charge to citizens. Including treatment, care and rehabilitation processes, a total of 22,500 animal friends received care. Over the past two years, the number of stray animals sterilized at the center increased by 164 percent, the number of stray animals adopted increased by 131 percent, and the number of stray animals rehabilitated increased by 38 percent.

Wildlife is also under protection

Guided by the principle that “every living being in nature is entrusted to us,” the center embraces all living creatures within the urban ecosystem. As part of its efforts to support agricultural production, strengthen connections between neighborhoods and reduce travel times, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality has resolved the long-standing 9-kilometer road issue between Sapaca Neighborhood in Honaz district and Çambaşı Neighborhood in Bozkurt district. Previously, residents wishing to travel from Sapaca to Çambaşı had to descend to Kaklık Neighborhood and use the 22-kilometer Ankara road route. Following the instructions of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, the width of the road was increased from 6 meters to 9 meters. Completed and opened to service in a short period of approximately 20 days, the new route has brought the two districts closer together, while the savings in both time and fuel have made a significant contribution to the regional economy.

Sapaca Neighborhood Headman Reşat Taş stated that the road has provided significant convenience, particularly for the people of the region. Taş said, “Previously, this road was dusty, unpaved and narrow. It was very difficult for our vehicles to pass and for us to travel to and from Bozkurt. Now the road has been widened and asphalted. It has been a very valuable investment for the people of the region. When we wanted to travel from Sapaca to Bozkurt, we would go down to Kaklık Neighborhood and then reach Bozkurt from there. FIFA-standard goalposts and substitute player benches have also been put into service. The synthetic turf application has reduced water consumption, creating an environmentally friendly and sustainable sports area. The wire fencing around the field has been completely renewed. A 400-meter-long walking path was constructed to support healthy lifestyle habits among residents. Thanks to the modern lighting system installed on four 20-meter-high floodlight poles, the facility can also be used safely during evening hours.

Comprehensive renovation at İlbade Football Field

İlbade Football Field, another important sports venue in the city, has also been completely renovated with high-quality work. At the facility, a 400-meter-long walking path meeting athletics track standards, featuring a spray-coated surface, was constructed across a total area of 2,062 square meters. With synthetic turf installed across an area of 6,233 square meters, the playing surface was upgraded to FIFA Quality standards. While the wire fencing was renewed, the goalposts, corner flags and stadium seats were given a modern appearance. To maximise the safety of residents using the field, a 243.75-square-meter rubber turf surface was installed around the field.

A comprehensive programme where science and the sky meet

Offering participants a rich programme in both theoretical and practical terms, the event will feature inspiring talks by expert academics under the titles “Astronomy for Everyone, from Seven to Seventy-Seven,” “Meteor Showers and the Perseid Spectacle,” “The Universe: Past, Present and Future,” “Our Star, the Sun, and Solar Observations,” “Introduction to Astrophotography” and “Human Health in Space and Medical Challenges.” Space-themed workshops for all ages, organised in cooperation with Denizli Science Centre, solar observations, water rocket demonstrations, telescope-making activities and the excitement of a live broadcast of a solar eclipse from Spain will add further colour to the programme.
