Denizli Glass Festival Has Ended

Denizli Glass Festival finished with a magnificent ceremony. The rooster consisting of 2 thousand 200 glass beads with a height of 1.80 meters was made during the festival. The closing ceremony was held at Delikliçınar Square. The closing ceremony started with fire dance show, and came to an end with the opening of the rooster statue. Osman Zolan mayor of Denizli Municipality at his speech stated that Glass means transparency, health, politeness. At the same time glass means glassware, art and everything. The glass festival brought new excitement and beauty to Denizli. I hope that with this festival Denizli's glass workshops and glass art will wake with more interest. I thank everyone, who contributed to this festival, craftsmen and viewers.
Ömür Duruerk the festival organizer stated that with our studies we intend to develop glass art in Turkey and we hope that our studies will continue. We wanted to reveal something unique to Denizli. So we decided to make the rooster, because the rooster is the most important symbol of Denizli. Many citizens and international craftsmen have contributed to the producing of Rooster Statue.
