Denizli Merkez Efendi 2nd Traditional Medicine Festival

The 2nd Merkez Efendi Traditional Medicine Festival, organized in cooperation with Denizli and Zeytinburnu Municipalities and Pamukkale University begins. The opening ceremony of the festival was made by concert of artist Esat Kabaklı and mesir paste was distributed to participants of concert.
During the festival academic meetings will take place at Çatalçeşme Theatre Room and many activities will be organized.

Mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality in Denizli
Mayor Osman Zolan and his wife Berrin Zolan welcomed Mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality Murat Aydın and his wife Bedriye Aydın in his office. Also Mayor met with academics from different universities of Turkey, who came in Denizli for scientific sessions. Governor Abdülkadir Demir with his wife Nurtaç Demir and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Bağcı Rector of PAU also took part in the visit program.

Zolan: We preserve our values
Abdülkadir Demir, Osman Zolan, Murat Aydın and Hüseyin Bağcı in their speeches highlighted the importance of the Festival.
Bağcı stated that he is very happy for contribution to the festival in terms of academic support.
Murat Aydın stated that more than 3.500 endemic plants grow in Turkey. Many of these plants are used in the health sector for many years. Merkez Efendi is the genious person, who used these plants the most efficient way and we are obligated to preserve his values.

Mayor Zolan stated that Merkezefendi was born and completed primary school in Denizli, went to Bursa and İstanbul. Then he served in Manisa. He is one of the most important values of Denizli. Our purpose is to introduce the genius of medical science of that period to all generations. I would like to thank Nihat Zeybekci for his contribution to organization of such important activity.

Abdülkadir Demir in his speech stated that persons, who shape the future of country and nation should be always remembered and Merkez Efendi is the one of these persons.
After speeches, Abdülkadir Demir, Osman Zolan, Murat Aydın and Hüseyin Bağcı have distributed mesir paste to citizens. Durıng the concert, the audience was enraptured by the beautiful songs, performed by artist Esat Kabaklı.
