Athletes from different countries meet in Denizli

Festival will begin on 10 October 2012 / Wednesday at 11.00 with the Traditional Game of Cirit and will finish on 14 October 2012 / Sunday at 13.00 with Strongman Truck Pull and Sumo tournament.
Athletes from Turkey, Turkmenistan, Moldova, USA, Malaysia, India, Uzbekistan, Iran, Georgia, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Germany, Lithuania, Austria, Estonia, Ukraine, Poland, Ireland, Latvia, Japan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria, Jordania, and Bashkortostan will participate in the festival.
Festival will begin with the Cirit Turkey Championship on 10 October 2012. The 2nd day's program will start at 10.00 am. Throughout the day Cirit and Equestrian Sports Competitions will be organized. Cartege walk will be held at 5.00 pm from Denizli Governorship to Denizli Municipality.
On 12 October festival will begin on 09.30 am and will continue throughout the day. In the framework of the program Cirit Turkey Championship, Ambling horse-riding, Sleigh, Gökbörü, the show of foreign horse riders, Matrak Turkey Championship, wrestling different types of all, sumo and strongman competitions will be held.
Saturday's program will begin with Matrak Turkey Championship and will continue with wrestling different types of all, sumo and strongman competitions.
The last day's program will end with Cirit 3 and 4 medal, Ambling horse-riding, Cirit Final, Gökbörü, Matrak Turkey Championship, show of foreign horse riders, wrestling different types of all, sumo and strongman competitions.
Festival will be broadcast live on TRT.
Mayor Osman Zolan gave information about Festival. ‘Festival will bring together 450 athletes from 25 different countries. Our purpose is to introduce Denizli to the world and to contribute in learning of traditional sports by children and new generation. This Festival will be one of the most unique festivals in the World. I would like to thank everyone who contributed in organization of the festival and we are waiting for all citizens to the festival.’
