The 3rd Traditional Medicine Festival has began

The 3rd Merkezefendi Traditional Medicine Festival, organized in cooperation with Denizli and Zeytinburnu Municipalities and which supported by Pamukkale University and Denizli State Hospital has began.
During the first day of the festival, various activities were held at the garden of Çatalçeşme Theatre Room.
Health Department of Denizli Municipality offers the free public health screening. Parks and Gardens Department presents basil to all participants of festival. Meanwhile some private organizations also took part in the festival and opened the stands.
Mayor Osman Zolan, deputy mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality Gökhan Kasap and members of protocol visited festival stands, where they distributed basil to all participants of festival. In the meantime mesir paste was distributed to everyone who attended the festival. In the other part of the festival, 10 scientists, faculty members in various universities in Turkey made a presentation on healing plants.
Mayor Zolan stated that Merkez Efendi was born and completed primary school in Denizli, went to Bursa and İstanbul. Then he served in Manisa. He is one of the most important values of Denizli. 'We must to preserve our values and Merkezefendi is one of these values. Our purpose is to introduce the genius of medical science of that period to all generations. For this reason Denizli Municipality in collaboration with Zeytinburnu Municipality have organized this festival. Meanwhile, Denizli became Metropolitan City. Denizli will consist of 2 boroughs and one of these boroughs will be Merkezefendi.'
Gökhan Kasap stated that more than 3.500 endemic plants grow in Turkey. 'Many of these plants are used in the health sector for many years. Merkezefendi is the genious person, who used these plants the most efficient way and we are obligated to preserve his values. In this context we are created a garden where medical plants are growing. Merkezefendi was born in Denizli but died in Zeytinburnu. We preserve your value in the best way.'
Şerif Kutludağ faculty member of PAU conveyed information about Merkezefendi. Op. Dr. Kadir Gökhan Saçkan one of directors in Denizli State Hospital conveyed information about Cardiovascular disease; Specialist Doctor in Denizli State Hospital Serkan Değirmencioğlu made a presentation on the Oncology and Cancer Diseases.
