International Glass Festival Begins

Denizli Municipality organizes The 2nd International Glass Festival. Denizli Municipality has undertaken a new project which set an example to other cities of our country. Festival commences with collaboration of Denizli Municipality and Karma Design Workshop, will be conducted between the 26-28 May.
The four foreign glass artists and glass artists from various parts of Turkey will participate in the festival. During the festival, artists will present the spectacular show in Denizli. Participants will have opportunity to see the works of artists and participate in conferences. In addition, citizens will be able to attend the concert.

May 24, 2013 / Friday
The show of Glass artists; guests will meet with torch. Viewers will participate in the activity of glass bead making. Glass decoration activity: participants between the ages of 6-18 will paint the decor on paper and glass artist will the transfer this pattern on the glass by scraping technique. Gianni Toso (Venice/Italy): The differences between art and craft; Önder Küçükerman (Industrial Designer): The Historical Resources of Turkish Glassmaking; Celal Şimşek (Laodicea Excavation Director): Glass Finds from Laodicea; Fusing technique with Mustafa Ağatekin; City tours with a guide and promotional tours of the city: Babadağlılar business center / Kaleiçi Bazaar, Fashion Show in the period of Laodicea.

Conferences: Sally Prasch (USA): Scientific Glass Blowing and Art; Mustafa Ağatekin (Anadolu University): Development of Art Glass in Turkey; İrfan Duman Chairman of the Board of Uğurlu Auto Glass Factory: Industrial Glass Industry in Denizli. Glass decoration activity; participants of the festival between the ages of 6-18 will paint the decor on paper and glass artist will the transfer this pattern on the glass by scraping technique. City tours with a guide and promotional tours of the city: Çamlık Park and Zoo, Bottle Coloring Activity for Children, Trip to the Laodicea Ancient City.
