The Magnificent End of the 4th Denizli Aegean Minstrels Feast
This year the 4th Denizli Aegean Minstrels Feast organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality which lasted 2 days ended with a spectacular final program.
The 4th Denizli Aegean Minstrels Feast organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality year has brought together 20 minstrels from various regions of Turkey and 6 minstrel from abroad. Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan, Denizli Metropolitan Deputy Secretary General Mustafa Gökoğlan, Director of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Cultural and Social Affairs Department Hüdaverdi Otaklı and a large audience joined the final night of the feast held at Çatalçeşme Theatre Hall. Denizli’s minstrel Ozan Nihat hosted minstrels. He greeted all minstrels and folk song lovers on the rhythms of saz. For 3 hours while the program lasted, the minstrels added color to the concert with their beautiful specific folk songs and saz. Poems, written for Çanakkale Martyrs led to moments of full emotions.
We preserve our values
At the end of the program Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan was invited on stage. Beginning his speech by thanking minstrels for offering such a pleasant and enjoyable night Mayor Zolan said: ''Welcome to Denizli. We are honored to host you here. We have met again with the music, beauty and art which is a memory of our ancestors. Especially our young people, our children have the opportunity to meet with this beauty. We have to continue to teach our values to our children and our young people and we need to keep alive these traditions. We have to preserve our values. With this idea we started the Minstrels Feast 4 years ago. This is our culture, our essence, is where we came from. In these two days minstrels met with our young people, with our students and spent a wonderful time here. I hope we'll meet again at the 5th edition of the feast. ''
We will achieve a much larger organization
Pointing out that Denizli Metropolitan Municipality has an institutional mission to transfer the cultural values to future generations, Mayor Zolan, ''It is our duty as municipal institution to preserve our cultural values and to pass them further to our future generations. Dear Mr Ozan Nihat is Denizli's minstrel, our poet. He put the bases of this feast. Next year, together with finishing the construction of Nihat Zeybekci Cultural and Congress Centre we'll solve the lack of space in order to provide a greater participation of Denizli's people. The construction of Nihat Zeybekci Cultural and Congress Centre is in full swing. When it will be completed we will host you in that halls. I would like to thank you again for coming and I send my whole greetings to all minstrels and folk song lovers. Hopefully our unity, our solidarity will continue.
At the end of the program Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan presented plaque and took photographs with the minstrels.
