Enthusiasm of Festival Has Ended

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality International Amateur Theatre Festival has ended. The 30th International Amateur Theatre Festival lasted a week and the city was the scene of color images during the festival. The festival has ended with the City Theater's play 'Beyond the Walls'. The 29 theater performances exhibited by the 18 theatre teams participating in the festival were also staged in Acıpayam, Tavas and Sarayköy. Performing their plays in order to make an intercultural exchange, the groups came from Iran, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Tunisia and the Netherlands were the guest of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality. Workshops held during the festival had also a great impact. In particularly the American group Sign Dance Collective's was highlighted with thei workshop ''Theatre to Dance Dance to Theatre''. Carrying out short performances of the workshop in Pamukkale, the artists İsolte Avila and Hollywood artist David Bower expressed their satisfaction of being our guests in Denizli. We also had the honor to host the artist of Izmir State Theater Hülya Savaş who won the "Best Actress Award" in İsmet Küntay Theatre Awards in 2014. She came in Denizli for the "Voice and Diction" workshop. Another play that attracts attention in the festival is ''Rotten Apples'' staged by Young Denizli Theatre Club. Written by Atilla Alpöge the play was directed by Hediye Uğan. The play performed by 20 players team took a great appreciation from the audience. One of the most enjoyable workshop in the festival was the "Puppet Making Workshop". The puppets made in this workshop are exhibited at Çatalçeşme Theatre Hall.
Festival ended with the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality City Theatre's play 'Beyond the Walls'. Written by Turgut Özakman and directed by Sinan Küçüköz the theatre play took a great appreciation from the audience. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Mustafa Gökoğlan, Director of Cultural and Social Affairs Department Hüdaverdi Otaklı and many gusts were watched the play.
Speaking about the festival, Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan, ''The world's longest amateur theater festival that we held every year comes to an end. I believe this festival will continue for many years more. This year, 18 groups met for 1 week in Denizli and enjoyed the theater lovers with their beautiful plays. This festival allows dialogue between people. It strengthens relationships between languages, religions and countries. We've done and we will continue to do our best regarding the art and culture in Denizli. We'll do whatever it takes to increase our children, our young people's interest in art. I would like to thank our guests for experiencing this beauty, ''he said.
