The 4th Traditional Medicine Festival has began
The 4th Merkezefendi Traditional Medicine Festival, organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with Zeytinburnu Municipality has began. The program of the event that will last 2 days aims to introduce many aspects of Merkezefendi.
The 4th Merkezefendi Traditional Medicine Festival, organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with Zeytinburnu Municipality has began with the activities carried out in the Çatalçeşme Theatre Hall and its garden. Within the activities carried out for 2 days at the open stands was offered basil to everyone who visited the festival and the Health Department of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality offers free public health screening. Within the activities will be held an exhibition of endemic plants and in the conferences that will take place will be presented the benefits of endemic plants in our lives.
Due to the painful accident that happened in Soma at the opening ceremony of the festival there were no protocol speeches. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Mustafa Gökoğlan, Mayor of Merkezefendi Muhammet Subaşıoğlu, Deputy Mayor of Zeytinburnu Municipality Zafer Alsaç, Director of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Cultural and Social Affairs Department Hüdaverdi Otaklı, Director of Culture Department of Zeytinburnu Municipality Mustafa Aydın and many citizens attended the opening ceremony.
Providing information about the event and stating that 12 scientists, faculty members in various universities in Turkey will make a presentation on healing plants in various conferences, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Mustafa Gökoğlan said: ''We must preserve our values and Merkez Efendi is one of these values. Our purpose is to introduce the genius of medical science of that period to all generations. For this reason Denizli Municipality in collaboration with Zeytinburnu Municipality have organized this festival. ''
In the first fay of the festival Şerif Kutludağ faculty member of PAU conveyed information about Merkezefendi and the education system during his lifetime. Hospital Manager of Denizli State Hospital Op. Dr. Kadir Gökhan Saçkan conveyed information about Cardiovascular disease; Exp. Dr. Mustafa Çam and Exp. Dr.Mehmet Öztürk in Neurological Disorders spoke about the forms of heart disease and nutrition. Prof. Dr. Ali Çelik told about the biological features and benefits of the grape.
At the end of the session the speakers who attended the festival were presented with a plaque.
