THE 14TH INTERNATIONAL FOLK DANCE FESTIVAL BEGAN
The 14th International Folk Dance Festival organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality has began. In the Festival is participating Pahoy Folk Dance Group of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality as the host of the festival and 334 dancers from 10 countries. Folk dances belonging to cultures of different countries will bring together people of Denizli and will be presented within the festival in Delikliçınar Square, İncilipınar Park, Adalet Park, Ziya Tıkıroğlu Ope Air Theatre and in also in the districts Honaz, Sarayköy, Serinhisar, Tavas and Çivril. Stating that for 6 days Denizli will meet different cultures, Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan said that the festival is a good opportunity to better know different cultures.
After visiting the Deputy Governor Abdullah Acar, the folk dance groups from different countries of the world participating in the 14th International Folk Dance Festival organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality started the parade walk from in front of the Denizli Governorship until in front of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality.
VISIT TO MAYOR ZOLAN
After the parade dancers from different countries visited the Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan in his office. Stating that for 6 days Denizli will meet different cultures and expressing the contentment for the visit, Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan said: '' I welcome to Denizli all our guests from all over the world. We, as Denizli Metropolitan Municipality are delighted to welcome you to Denizli. I hope that by organizing this 14th edition of the International Folk Dance Festival to provide a good opportunity to better know different cultures and to promote our culture and our city in the march toward peace. Different cultures, different values, different nations come together. We hope that the 14th International Folk Dance Festival to increase the spirit of brotherhood and coexistence. I would like to thank all our quests from the 10 countries for coming in Denizli and I say them welcome again. I hope they will appreciate our Denizli and our country. By sharing our cultures let's increase the beauties. Let's make our cultures known by everyone. This is our idea, our goal. ''
THE FIRST SHOW TOOK PLACE IN DELİKLİÇINAR SQUARE
After visiting the Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Osman Zolan the folk dance groups presented the folk dances of their countries in Delikliçınar Square. Denizli people showed great interest the dance performances which received great applause.
FESTIVAL PROGRAM
The festival that will continue until June 28 will not be limited to Çınar Square, İncilipınar Park, Adalet Park and Ziya Tıkıroğlu Open Air Theatre but will be also held in the districts Honaz, Sarayköy, Serinhisar, Tavas and Çivril. The Festival Gala will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 21:00 at Ziya Tıkıroğlu Open Air Theatre.
