
The Stone Sculpture Colony ended
The Turkey's first and only "International Stone Sculpture Colony", organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and Kömürcüoğlu Marble for the 6th time this year, ended.
The 6th International Stone Sculpture Colony organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and Kömürcüoğlu Marble ended with a closing program. Denizli Deputy Governor Ekrem Büyükata, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Ali Değirmenci, Deputy Secretary General Mustafa Gökoğlan, Kömürcüoğlu Marble Chairman of Administrative Board Nihat Kömürcüoğlu, and invited guests attended the closing program of Turkey's only stone sculpture. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Ali Değirmenci said he is proud of exhibiting these beautiful works at the end of the colony, that began in May. Değirmenci said: ''Denizli is a very rich place in the field of sculpture art. Denizli has a great heritage of 19 ancient cities. Our Metropolitan Municipality gives o great importance to art and our artists. As always, we will meet these sculptures with our citizens in the most beautiful places of Denizli. ''
"8 artists from 7 countries participated"
Stating that eight artists from seven countries participated in the 6th colony, Kömürcüoğlu Marble Chairman of Administrative Board Nihat Kömürcüoğlu thanked everyone who attended the closing program. Telling that the Stone Sculpture Colony is a passion for them, Kömürcüoğlu said they want to continue to organize this event for many years.
The works will be exhibited in the center of Denizli
This year, 192 projects from 43 countries have applied to the colony, from which 8 artists from 7 countries have the opportunity to reveal beautiful works. The works of artists from Turkey, Italy, Georgia, Ukraine, Spain, Switzerland, Romania, and the United States participating in the 6th International Stone Sculpture Colony will be exhibited in different central locations of Denizli.
