Denizli Metropolitan Municipality 17th International Folk Dance Festival started with a parade. Hosting 4,375 dancers from 55 different countries since the first year, the festival organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will host a unique cultural festival for four days.
The enthusiasm for the 17th International Folk Dance Festival has begun.
The International Folk Dance Festival, organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality for the 17th time this year, started with a parade. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Chairman of the Assembly Ali Değirmenci, Deputy Secretary General Serhat Akbulut, Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs Hüdaverdi Otaklı, guests and folk dance artists from 11 different countries participated in the parade, which started in front of the Denizli Governorship. In the parade, the dancers performed their country-specific dances, and the citizens immortalized these beautiful moments with the photographs and images they took. The enthusiastic march, which continued with music and dances, ended in front of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality. Here, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan shared enthusiasm for the cultural festival. Mayor Zolan, who chatted with the dancers for a while and took a souvenir photo, said they were very happy to host such an important festival.

Stating that such organizations are very special and valuable to meet the cultures of different countries, Mayor Osman Zolan said, ''611 folk dance artists from 11 countries and different provinces of our country came to our city. Every country, region and province will exhibit its culture, values and beauties formed thousands of years ago in our city. ''Expressing that Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Conservatory Folk Dance Ensemble will also reflect the beauties of Denizli at the festival, Mayor Zolan said, ''Our citizens will have the opportunity to watch colourful, enthusiastic and beautiful folk dances. There will be cross-cultural fusion. I wish our festival to be successful. Demonstrations will be held in different points of our city centre and in Acıpayam, Çivril, Tavas, Sarayköy and Buldan districts. I invite all my fellow citizens to these beautiful events, so they should not miss it.'' After the program, representatives of guests from 11 countries visited Mayor Osman Zolan in his office.
Denizli has hosted 55 countries in festivals so far.
Georgia, India, Ossetia, Adjaria, Iran, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Ukraine, Poland, Macedonia, and Moldova; A total of 611 dancers from Turkey, Trabzon, Gaziantep, Bursa, Kütahya, Burdur, Uşak, Aydın, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Conservatory Folk Dance Ensemble and Sarayköy Atatürk Secondary School Folk Dance team, will take the stage in the festival, which will last until July 14. On the other hand, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality has experienced the justified pride of hosting 4,375 dancers from 55 different countries since the festival began in 2000.
Denizli people flocked to the first show
On the first day of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality's 17th International Folk Dance Festival, groups took the stage in the 15 Temmuz Delikliçınar Şehitler Square. In the opening program, where the citizens showed great interest, the local and foreign teams, who performed their beautiful dances for the people of Denizli, received great applause from the citizens. Mayor Osman Zolan, who participated in the opening program, thanked the teams.
