Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, which buys watermelons left in farmers' fields due to high costs, has started distributing the products brought to the city centre by trucks to those in need in disadvantaged areas.

Watermelons left in the field were distributed to the people
Due to the excessively high production costs, watermelons left in the field by farmers were bought by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, who came to the producers' aid. These watermelons have started to be distributed to those in need in disadvantaged areas of the city centre. On July 31, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality bought the remaining watermelons from farmers in the Akalan Neighbourhood of Acıpayam district and transported the products to the city centre by trucks. With the support project, also accompanied by Veysel Danacıoğlu, Director of the Social Services Department of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, 20.5 tons of watermelons were initially distributed to citizens in Karşıyaka and Aktepe neighbourhoods. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality's support for watermelon producers will continue. This support benefits both the producers and the people.
The resources of this city will be spent on its people.
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu said that farmers who are striving to produce with dedication are struggling due to excessive costs. Highlighting that people can be happy with their production, Mayor Çavuşoğlu stated, "In this regard, we have started buying the watermelons left in the fields by our farmers and distributing them to people in disadvantaged areas. In addition to our routine municipal services, we are implementing projects we promised, such as support for our producers. We will continue to embrace all of our people. The resources of this city will be spent on its people. We will build a Denizli where peace and happiness prevail. ''
