'Zorba' ballet will be performed in Laodicea.

 

The 2,200-year-old Western Theater of Laodicea will experience another historic day. Hosted by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, the Ankara State Opera and Ballet of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will perform 'Zorba,' one of the world's most beloved ballet works, for the people of Denizli. All Denizli residents are invited to the free performance hosted by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality on Saturday, August 24, at 21:00. The performance, adapted for the stage from the world-famous novel 'Zorba' by the master writer Nikos Kazantzakis, will feature the magnificent compositions of Mikis Theodorakis and the unique choreography of Lorca Massine. The choreography assistant will be Elisa Arnone, set and oriental costume design will be by Gürcan Kubilay, costume design by Tülay Şimşek, and lighting design by Fuat Gök.

 

Free buses will be provided for transportation. 

 

Entry to Laodicea will be free starting from 17.00 for participation in this special event. Additionally, the Metropolitan Municipality will offer free transportation for citizens wishing to attend the event in the ancient city of Laodicea. Buses will run at half-hour intervals from 17.00 to 20.00 from KYK front, Adalet Park, in front of the Metropolitan Municipality, in front of the old Bağbaşı Municipality, and Anafartalar Market.

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu expressed his happiness that such an important work will be performed at the 2,200-year-old Western Theater of Laodicea. Mayor Çavuşoğlu said, ''We are experiencing the joy and excitement of hosting a magnificent performance at the historically and artistically rich Western Theater of Laodicea. I invite all our citizens to this special night. ''
